Household Recycling

Recycling Depot

Temora Lions Club Inc. operates a recycling depot in Melaleuca Street, Temora for paper, cardboard, glass and aluminium cans.

Residents can make use of this facility by delivering their recyclables to the depot seven (7) days a week.

Users are asked to help by putting their recyclables in the correct bins provided.

All clear, green and amber glass bottles and all glass jars can be recycled. Residents are asked to removed lids or caps and rinse bottles before recycling.

Broken window or windscreen glass, heat treated glass (Pyrex, corningware etc), light globes, mirrors, white opaque bottles, china and ceramics can not be recycled at the depot.

Paper Bins

Paper bins are provided to residents free of charge and the Lions Club conducts a paper collection run on the last Sunday of each month.

Generally, residents can assist the Lions Club by:

  • noting that this collection is predominately for paper;
  • not putting plastic or other non recycling materials in the bin;
  • ensuring that all paper to be collected is placed in the bin or tied in bundles;
  • ensuring that bins are out on the footpath by 8:00 AM on collection days (last Sunday of each month).

Cardboard may be collected but only if:

  • it is empty of all contents and non recyclable packaging material;
  • it is not mixed with the paper in the collection bin (they should be separately packaged);
  • it is flattened and stacked or bundled.

To order a paper bin, contact Council on 6980 1100.
