Did you know that a lot of our successful staff, including some of our managers, started out in a trainee role? Whilst this job is a 12-month position, it can open many opportunities for the right person.

We are looking for a school-leaver who wants to gain valuable hands-on experience while studying at TAFE to achieve a Certificate III in Business. The person we are looking for will be motivated, enthusiastic and well organised, be well presented and have good communication skills. An interest in Local Government would be beneficial and they must have a strong interest in administration.

The position:

  • Reception duties
  • Answering telephones and counter enquiries
  • Filing
  • Cash handling and reconciliation
  • Data input
  • Daily street run
  • Other general office duties and assisting other team members

Benefits:

  • 9 day fortnight (35 hour week)

  • Good communication skills 
  • Ability to work well in team environment and follow instructions 
  • Some knowledge of council services 
  • Willingness to learn and undertake the requirements of Certificate III in Business Administration (including eligibility under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentive Program)
