Lake Centenary

Lake Centenary, situated just north of Temora, serves as a purpose-built hub for aquatic enthusiasts interested in activities such as power boating, water skiing, sailing, canoeing, paddle boating, and swimming. Additionally, the Lake Centenary precinct boasts an expansive playground, self-weighted gym equipment, and meticulously landscaped picnic facilities, making it an ideal location for a delightful day outdoors.

Access to the Lake

There is a gate to the boat ramp, which requires an access card and can only be used by vehicles with a boat trailer. There are 3 options for cards to access the boat launch area:

  • Day pass - $15, plus $35 bond, redeemable on return of the gate card
  • 12 months access - $50
  • 3 years access - $120

Cards are available from Caltex Service Station, 109 Hoskins Street. 

Rules and Regulations

For the safety of all, boat operators are reminded to follow the rules and regulations governing the water. Adhering to the rules and regulations are mandatory and ensure the safety of all lake users. The operating rules are available here(PDF, 179KB), and signposted at the boat ramp. Lake users are to make themselves aware of the operating rules.

Roads and Maritime Services, local law enforcement, Temora Shire Council and Lake Centenary Management Committee are responsible for policing operating rules and local fire restrictions.  

There is a no glass policy. A $550 infringement notice will apply.

Dogs are to be kept on a leash at all times in the Lake Centenary Precinct. However, there is a dog park, which is a leash free area. You are required to clean up after your dog before leaving the Lake Centenary Precinct.

Events in the Lake Centenary Precinct

Occasionally, events or environmental factors may affect the status of the lake. Information and updates are available on the Lake Centenary Facebook page.

Booking are not required for BBQs. This is a first come, first serve basis.

If you are thinking of hosting a significant event at the lake, you must complete this form at least 8 weeks prior to the event date.
