Harness Racing - Published: 02 Jun 2009
Temora was the home of champion pacer, Paleface Adios, also known as the "Temora Tornado", a dearly loved champion by many Australians. Among his great victories were two Lord Mayor's Cups at Harold Park, two Uhr Championships in Brisbane and his greatest victory - the Winfield Cup in Melbourne when he was running as an eight-year-old. Paleface Adios is remembered in the form of a life-size monument of him with driver, Col Pike, in Paleface Park on the corner of Loftus and Hoskins Streets. Harness racing has always been a strong sport in Temora and owner trainers and trotting studs continue to have a strong presence in the district. Regular trotting meetings during summer feature prominently on the town's calender of events. more ..

Lake Centenary - Published: 02 Jun 2009
Water sports are a passion with many people living in, and visiting, Temora. Lake Centenary, just north of the town, is a man-made centre for aquatic enthusiasts - whether it is power boating, waterskiing, sailing, canoeing or just swimming. The 55 hectare lake has an excellent boat ramp as well as landscaped picnic facilities. It is an ideal venue for a relaxing day out. more ..
